John Ward's Art Glass Hoard
John Ward (aka; JMW or Plants4fun) spent 25 years chasing Art Glass dreams and visions. 'Immersed' is not a strong enough word., He lived the Art Glass world. Following a similar path that he had used from his second career in the Orchid world, he searched out and contributed to every corner of the hobby.
John started collecting glass in the 90's, with Paperweights and small vases. I believe his eye for finer details led him to focus more on Art Glass Marbles and Beads and found a bit of a family in the tight knit community of Lamp work artists. He collected and befriended many new artists, and was known to advise and nurture individual talents within these budding artists.
Many lifetime connections were made and true friendships grew, all while he amassed a great deal of Glass Art. As was his nature and with such a voluminous collection, not only did he show support of artists through purchases, but gifted other Glass Art back across artists...
This site shares the spirit in taking the re-homing of this lifetime collection seriously, from his family back to the Art glass community.
